He has made [you] alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
Colossians 2:13-15
It’s all in the past. Paul writing here uses the past tense again and again to emphasise the completed nature of what was accomplished on the cross. No further action is required, all debts have been cleared and the accuser dealt with. We are now alive with Him. This is the truth of God’s word so today thank Him for it and don’t look back. Sin, addiction, guilt and condemnation have been dealt with. Live today as that new creation God has made you.
Thank you Jesus, for all that you have done for me. I thank you that I am free from the power of the past and I can walk free today into the future You have obtained for me at the cross.
Amen
