Today (3/3/20) Christians all over the world are praying for an end to the #coronavirus outbreak. As of today there are 73 countries that have confirmed cases and over 3000 deaths with 91,000 people affected. We are thankful for the amazing efforts and actions taken by medical teams and disease planners but ultimately we are looking to God. As Psalm 91 says:
“God is our refuge and fortress; My God, in Him we will trust. Surely He shall deliver us from… the perilous pestilence.”
So today we declare this Psalm over London and cry out to Him to deliver us from this pestilence, because we are those who wait on Him and trust on Him, the Deliverer and Saviour to intervene.
We pray against fear and panic that would disrupt our city and economy. We ask for wisdom for our leaders and those making difficult policy decisions that they would get the balance between protection and drastic measures correct. That there would be no actions taken that spring up from fear that would unnecessarily disrupt London life. We pray that all decisions are wise.
We pray for people in London who are anxious. We ask that in the midst of this uncertainty and threat that they would know peace. We ask that this peace of God would be their guide in their own decision making process
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

We pray that those who are sick with the virus would quickly recover and do not infect others. We pray that there is a hedge of protection around our city and that London would not have any fatalities from the virus.
We pray for those working in the NHS are kept safe. We thank God for those working hard to prepare our city and ask that they have the resources they need to meet the increased demands and pressure on our Health Service. Help those God making decisions about where to allocate resources.
We ask for scientific breakthroughs to enable treatments to quickly become available to end the outbreak globally. Eradicate this disease from the earth we pray.
